The quaint borough of Doylestown is the county seat of Bucks County, and is known for its thriving business district. Especially popular among residents and visitors alike are its outdoor dining, old-time movie theater, shops, museums, and festivals. Are there other residency programs at Doylestown Hospital?
Doylestown Health is committed to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and performance of our nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, leading to improved patient outcomes. In 2020, Doylestown Health launched a Pharmacy Residency program which just recently just earned accreditation by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Only 17% of hospitals host post-graduate pharmacist training programs, and Doylestown Hospital is now recognized as part of this exclusive group achieving and maintaining superior standards of pharmaceutical care. Similarly, we are excited to extend our residency programs to develop activities and instruction aimed primarily at medical residents and fellows.
Our Family Medicine Residency is evidence of our commitment and our first medical residency. What makes joining our Family Residency program so unique is the opportunity to shape the future of many more residency programs at Doylestown Hospital. As a medical resident, you will be embedded within a community healthcare system established in 1923 that has earned national recognition and awards. As our CEO and President Jim Brexler states, “Throughout our history, the leaders of our organization have made top priorities of improving patient experience and proactively advocating for the wellness of the individuals we serve. Our predecessors created a culture marked by the relentless pursuit of quality, and we continue to uphold that commitment to patient safety.” As a new resident, you will now pave the way for future residents and at the same time, affect the culture and care of the patients and families who count on Doylestown Hospital for their future healthcare needs.
