Advancing Medicine, Transforming Care

Doylestown Health is one step closer to becoming part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS). Leaders from both organizations came together on August 14, 2024 to celebrate the signing of a definitive agreement, which will pave the way for the health systems to integrate clinical care and operations by early 2025, pending final state and federal review and approval.

Leaders of the two organizations offered brief remarks surrounded by hundreds of Doylestown Health Associates, Medical Staff, volunteers, board trustees, as well as members of Penn Medicine’s leadership and clinical teams who gathered for the event in the Gorsky Atrium at the Doylestown Hospital Cardiovascular and Critical Care Pavilion. Remarks concluded with a ceremonial signing of the definitive agreement, which was met with cheers and the waving of flags adorned with each health system’s logos.

The integration will strengthen the two organizations shared commitment to delivering the most advanced, convenient and compassionate care to people across the Philadelphia region. “Penn Medicine will add value to our hospital and to our community. It will preserve our clinical quality and the culture that supports it. But more importantly, it will create opportunities to expand and enhance our care,” said Doylestown Health President and CEO, Jim Brexler.
